The surprising fact about this image is that these piers are usually underwater. I have explored this location many times only to be met with disappointed that I could only see the tips of the piers and no more. Persistence and luck finally pay off for me on this day. It also helped that the sky was clear of any storms or clouds since I wanted to get a nice reflection in the water. I love all the old tires... and the symmetrical spacing of the weathered pilings really creates a feeling of lost, abandonment and being stuck in the middle of nowhere. It also reflexes excitement of undiscovered lands and why this dock was built in the first place.
