"ARRAY"

I really like creating minimalistic shots no matter where I travel. In this busy, technology driven world they give you the feeling of space, calmness and serenity. When I saw these weather beaten piers and turquoise green colored waters I knew I had something special. Along with the cloudy sky, off and on drizzling rain and empty beach I finally set up my tripod and camera in the perfect spot. I placed my rain coat over my camera so it wouldn't get wet while I composed different angles of the composition.

There was a lone lifeguard patrolling a 100 yard stretch of beach where I was shooting who, after a few passes in my general direction decided to ask me why I was out in such gloomy weather... and what the hell I was doing shooting these old, rusty piers. It's hard to explain your vision to someone who can't visualize what you're saying in words. That's one of the true gifts of photography.

This is one of many images in a collection that I took that day. To be on this beach alone in a big city was very memorable and a time I won't forget. Each image in this collection has its own personality and distinctiveness that really gives you the feeling of stillness and tranquility.
